Oahu has the largest amount of scuba diver training schools and also has the largest population.  Most of the diving schools will offer transportation to and from the hotels  Some of these diving schools will cater to the advanced diver while others specialize in beginner and intermediate and all of the schools offer various levels of courses. Almost all the local dive companies offer certification courses, as well as introductory scuba dives for those who’ve never tried it before. Experience is not necessary only the inclination.

The Mahi Waianae, a large ship, went down in the 80’s just south of Waianae Bay and today it serves as an articficial reef.

Oahu contains just about anything that a scuba diver can imagine including sea turtles, hundreds of tropical fish, sharks, and frog fish. Plane Corsair, the only naturally sunk wreck, at the east side of the Island. In that time 3 ghost nets have been removed from Oahu reefs. A total distance of five hundred plus feet reclaimed in debths of up to two hundred ft. Due to its distance, the offshore coral reefs remain the most flourishing in the islands, and the variety of tropical fish, sharks and even the occational sea turtles will give the diver the experice of a lifetime . The beach itself is popular to the point of being disappointingly crowded during the peak tourist season.
